When it comes to animal welfare, there are many varying philosophies and schools of thought. We believe that every animal welfare organization has the well-being of animals at heart, but there are varying ways to achieve this goal.

At times, some animal welfare groups get distracted from their mission and try to smear the good work and reputation of groups that don’t do things their way. But animal welfare is complex, and different organizations have different views, needs, capabilities and missions. At the end of each day, we need to remember that we’ve each played a role in making a positive difference in the lives of homeless and neglected animals regardless of our methods or philosophies.                  

Animal Humane Society bases our policies, methods and procedures on existing best practices in animal welfare. Always, the goal is to save more animals as we serve the community through outreach and education.
