Recent allegations accuse Animal Humane Society of illegally disposing ash remains from its crematorium. In an effort to provide the public with accurate information, we have outlined the facts below, detailing the cremation services we provide and showing that they are within the bounds of Minnesota law.
In 2000 AHS installed a crematorium as a part of a larger addition and renovation project. The crematorium was put in with the approval of the City of Golden Valley and following all standards for installation and inspection. The operation of the crematorium and the handling of ash remains are done in compliance with any applicable Minnesota laws.
